Merino
What was formerly viewed as a lower-grade material for hat making has experienced something of a renaissance. Recent developments in the felt-making trade have seen the advent of ultra-fine merino felts that come close to rivalling beaver felt in finish, if not quite in performance.
Ultra-fine merino offer an excellent option for those seeking a highly-sustainable and more budget-friendly hat without sacrificing on a luxurious finish.

Rabbit
For centuries rabbit fur-felt has been the staple of the hat industry as a respectable middle-ground between costly beaver felt and poorer quality wool felts. Rabbit fur-felt performs admirably well against the elements, it is both durable and capable of producing especially soft felts in a variety of finishes.
A fine choice of felt for all occasions at only a moderate price-point.

Beaver
Without question beaver fur-felt is the finest and best performing material available for hat making. Each hair features microscopic barbes which facilitate the exceptionally tight felting of the naturally hydrophobic fibres. The result is a felt almost completely impervious to water with excellent structure and unparalleled durability, with an exceptionally smooth handle.
