The Marine's Sea Cap
Recently we were tasked with researching and creating a sea cap for a British marine from the Chatham Division of Marines in 1774. At the time the British Corps of Marines was structured in three divisions: Chatham, Portsmouth, and Plymouth. Each division served as the administrative and training hub, from which marines would then be allocated to ships to make up the required complement aboard.
